Cheoy Lee 100

Quoted from owner by his request:

Congratulations on  another job well done and another happy customer. I am pleased to recommend Capt Vander Veen to anyone who is lucky enough to retain his services. We had major challenges because of COVID restrictions and Canadian US Border issues. Nothing gets more complicated than that and Capt Jerry never flinched. He took all issues as his own and with very little supervision got the job done in the best interests of all parties. I never would use anyone else for transporting my vessels through international waters. Thanks again Capt Vander Veen.

Moving yachts across the Canadian/USA border

by admin on October 13, 2020

Yes I can, yes I have. My credentials consider me to be essential services. This does not mean that I can cross as before the Covid-19 restrictions, and there are multiple hurdles to cross. I truly respect both nations’ desire to slow/stop the spread, and I’m honoring those wishes. I’ve moved somewhere between 15-20 across since the restrictions. Please contact me via the tab above. 10 October 2015

On October  3, 2015 my boat “Syndicat” was awarded the “Boat of the Year” award for the 2015 racing season.  I’m not certain of the exact numbers but my best recollection is that we’ve won this award 7 of the last 10 years.  The award is given to the boat which has won the most races […]

Hatteras 77 “KORU”

Beautiful Hatteras 77′ yacht.  I delivered this yacht for importation purposes from Vancouver BC into the USA.  The new owners plan to move her down to the San Francisco bay area.  She shows well and should… she’s the former “Cellular One”.

Knots (boat speed) Explained

14 April 2014

Most of today’s boats have knot meters installed to tell the operator the boat speed.  Now, really there are two speeds… through the water, and over the ground.  Our GPS systems can only calculate our speed ‘over the ground’, it does not take into account the river or tidal currents which will affect our speed over the ground.  […]
